Michael is a Board Member and SME Ambassador at CIM Midlands. His role is to promote the professionalisation of marketing in the SME sector and to act as the CIM’s ‘SME champion’ – ensuring events, training courses and seminars address the needs of small/medium sized businesses. His career outside the CIM has seen him head-up the marketing functions of SMEs in the fleet services and heavy industry sectors.
He is now an independent consultant and marketing practitioner, providing marketing leadership to businesses that don’t want the expense of a full-time marketing director (but do want a marketing function that is professional, creative and effective). All his clients are SMEs, including B2B specialists, financial services, automotive and others, and so Michael has developed a wide appreciation of the differing needs within SMEs and will bring this knowledge to his presentation.
Michael has an MBA from the Open University and a degree in Economics.
Michael is also a Director and Trustee of the William Salt Library Trust, the historic archive of Staffordshire life, and was previously on the Marketing Advisory Board of Archery GB, the sport’s governing body in the UK.
