University of Birmingham (UoB) is a Russell Group university with over 7,100 Staff and 30,000 Students. UoB has five colleges including Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS). The School of Metallurgy and Materials sits within EPS and provides an understanding of how materials behave and how they can be used and improved; essential to the development of new products.
Advanced Materials Characterisation and Simulation Hub (AMCASH) is Metallurgy and Materials’ ERDF funded initiative established to support small-to-medium sized businesses across four local enterprise partnership areas (Greater Birmingham and Solihull, Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire and The Marches. AMCASH allows companies to benefit from a minimum of two days’ work ranging from consultancy to industrial research in Polymers, Microscopy and Computer Modelling.
